What a beautiful read, Sarah! For some reason I am hearing the words of my late cousin, ringing in my ears: "And the dogs were happy...."

Hi Sarah…I’m reading between the lines…”Braiding Sweetgrass” comes to mind when talking about gifts. Hope to see you around Monhegan in a few weeks!🥰

Grateful for your piece, Sarah, and the “electric warning”. (I’ll be arriving Saturday for two weeks in Walker-Bright, like you 20 plus years.) Part of my joy of being “On Island” is doing well with whatever the Atlantic and the island gifts us.

Hi Kirke, feel free to stop by and say hello ~ the thought is that as long as we are careful and conserve (especially water) all will be well, but who knows what the dreaded August might bring 😬

Thank you for the peonies! I am weirdly jealous of your, albeit forced, off-grid existence right now. For the good of the fridge food, I hope the rolling blackouts are the worst of it for now, but say hello to the deep dark for me. <3

first of all, before you know it, you will have your own off the grid experience at your own cabin and secondly, you are ALWAYS welcome to visit. i think we're tentatively in the clear...for now, but it's barely the height of the season so 🤞🏻i've basically decided refriseration is overrated and it's better to live on the edge because with the current state of the world we already are.

and yes...my peonies...such a balm (and kudos to John for his careful tending)
